Cracking Treys

Cracking Treys is gang diss aimed toward the Black Disciples gang. Cracking Treys is done by touching your thumb with your pinky finger, and leaving your three middle fingers extended, and then repeatedly bending those three standing middle fingers or simply holding those three fingers after bending them.

One of the symbols of the Black Disciples gang is the ‘Trey’, which is the Roman numeral “III”, so cracking treys is an essence breaking that Black Disciples symbol. Cracking treys is often done by enemies of the Black Disciples gang as a taunt; many rappers whom are in gangs that are at war with the Black Disciples are often seen ‘Cracking Treys’ in their music videos. In Lil JoJo’s “3Hunnak(BDK)” song, he says “These n*ggas claim 300 but we BDK - BDK, yeah b*tch we BDK - We stackin b*tch so you know we crackin treys - Crackin treys, yeah b*tch we crackin treys”. If you watch any videos of rappers that are in gangs currently at war with the Black Disciples, it’s very rare to not see them cracking treys, unless the song doesn’t relate to gangs in any way.
