Moes refer to the Black P. Stone gang which was founded in Chicago, Illinois by Jeff Fort. The term Moes is tied to the Islamic identity that the Black P. Stones adopted when they turned into El Rukn. Moes is a reference to the "Moorish Science" tenants of the Rukns. Members of the Black P. Stone gang often refer to themselves and other members of the gang as 'Moes'. Bump J, a rapper from Chicago, made a reference to the Moes in his 'What Up Gangsta' song in which he said "What up Foes, what up Moes, what up Lords, what up gangstas".
