600k (Gang)

600k is a term used to disrespect the Chicago gang set known as 600, which is affiliated with the Black Disciples. The "k" stands for "killer" and is commonly added by rival gang members to show hostility. In this context, “600k” means "600 Killers" and is meant as a direct threat or sign of opposition to the 600 set.

600 is a well-known Black Disciples set located on the South Side of Chicago. The gang gained notoriety through both street activity and its influence in the Chicago drill rap scene. Many of its members have transitioned into music, further pushing the gang's name into public view.

Gang Slang: The Meaning of “K”

In Chicago gang culture, adding a “k” at the end of a gang name is a common way to disrespect rivals. It signifies that the speaker or writer is against that particular gang. Here are some examples:

  • 600K – Against the 600 set
  • 300K – Against the 300 set (also BD-affiliated)
  • BDK – Black Disciple Killer
  • GDK – Gangster Disciple Killer

These terms often appear in graffiti, social media, and especially in drill rap lyrics as part of ongoing conflicts.

Mentions in Music

Several rappers associated with rival sets have used the term “600k” in their songs to taunt or diss the 600 gang. These artists include:

  • TTB Nez – Known for his anti-600 references in his music.
  • Billionaire Black – A rapper from the FBG camp who has mentioned 600k in disses.
  • FBG Duck – Another prominent artist from the Gangster Disciples' STL set, who often clashed with BD-affiliated rappers.
  • Lil Jay – Perhaps one of the most vocal, Lil Jay is from the STL set, part of the Insane Gangster Disciples. In his diss track *Who the F*ck is Dude*, he raps:

“F*ck 600, I’m STL, so it’s f*ck 600...
BDK, 600K”

These lyrics highlight the deep-rooted tension between STL (Gangster Disciples) and 600 (Black Disciples), with music becoming another battlefield for these rivalries.

Cultural Impact

The use of “600k” goes beyond music—it reflects real-life gang rivalries that have fueled violence in Chicago for over a decade. Though drill music helped put Chicago on the global rap map, it also gave voice to street conflicts, where disses can lead to real-world consequences. For many, saying "600k" is more than just a lyric—it's a dangerous declaration of opposition.
