Dej Loaf

Dej Loaf, a dynamic female rapper hailing from the East Side of Detroit, Michigan, has made significant strides in the music industry. Signed to Columbia Records, her stage name combines her real name, Deja, with her fondness for loafers. Music became a central part of Dej Loaf's life at the tender age of 10, and she launched her first mixtape, "Just Do It," in 2012. An avowed sneakerhead, the mixtape's title nods to the iconic Nike slogan. Before fully committing to her music career, Dej Loaf briefly attended Saginaw Valley State University in 2010, completing three semesters before dropping out to follow her passion for rap.

Is Dej Loaf a Lesbian?

Curiosity about Dej Loaf's sexual orientation has persisted, largely because of her tomboyish style. Addressing these speculations, Dej Loaf clarified in an interview with DJ Vlad that she is not a lesbian. Further dispelling the rumors, she humorously tweeted, "Lol I’m not a dyke, hoes just love me."

Dej Loaf – Try Me

"Try Me" stands out as Dej Loaf's most successful track to date. Released on YouTube in late September 2014, the video quickly amassed millions of views within a month. The song's R&B-infused melody, coupled with its raw, gangster lyrics, resonated with fans and set it apart from the offerings of contemporary female rappers like Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj. At a time when few female rappers were addressing themes like "catching bodies," Dej Loaf's bold lyrics captured attention and admiration.
