Devonte Tayski Childress

Devonte Childress, known by the nicknames Tayski or Taytay, was a member of the 300 set of the Black Disciples gang located in the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. Tragically, he passed away on July 8, 2011, succumbing to gunshot wounds inflicted during a drive-by shooting on July 6, 2011. Another victim of the attack, an unidentified 15-year-old, survived the ordeal.

As some Black Disciples members rose to fame as rap artists, their music videos frequently pay tribute to lost friends. In some of Lil Durk's videos, close associates of Devonte "Tayski" Childress are seen wearing shirts emblazoned with his name in remembrance.

Despite being honored by his Black Disciples peers in rap songs, Tayski remains a frequent target in diss tracks by rival gangs. Lil Marc, affiliated with 051 Young Money, mentioned Tayski in his song "Competition," referring to him with the line "Tayski pack."
