Fifteen-year-old Jonathan La Valle, known by his stage name "FamoussJayy," stands out as a promising talent in the world of Chicago drill rap. Originally hailing from the intersection of 63rd and Albany, his family relocated to the more upscale Scottsdale area near 83rd and Pulaski to pursue a better quality of life.
Immersed in Chicago's drill music scene from a young age, Jonathan found himself captivated by its raw and powerful energy. He gravitated towards the works of Black Disciple artists, aligning himself with their sound and ethos, largely influenced by his social circle.
Jonathan's early years were marked by a passion for basketball, a pastime he enjoyed with friends during the day, while engaging in illicit activities by night. However, as he transitioned into high school, his focus shifted. He began embracing the gritty lifestyle often portrayed in drill music, inspiring him and his peers to articulate their own experiences through rap.
Eager to carve out a name for themselves, Jonathan and his friends initially utilized basic methods to share their music online—recording songs on their phones with beats playing in the background. Recognizing the potential for growth, Jonathan invested in his burgeoning career by purchasing a microphone and installing studio software on his home computer, thereby establishing a home studio where he and his friends could hone their craft.
Currently attending Curie High School, FamoussJayy is dedicated to pursuing his dream of rap stardom. He aspires to rise to prominence in the music industry, bringing his friends along on his journey to fame.
