In the tumultuous environment of California's streets and prisons during the late 1980s, various ethnic gangs emerged as a means of self-protection against police and rival factions. Among these was a group known as the Original Laotian Gangsters, or O.L.G. Another faction, the Laos Crazy Gangsters, also emerged with leadership under a figure known as 'Killa Kham' or 'KK.' A separate group, Laos Posse, was led by 'Darky.' These groups eventually allied to strengthen their influence, adopting the unified name O.L.G. KK and Darky, both well-connected, became central figures recognized by the California Police Department (CPD).
Months after their alliance, a pivotal meeting was convened by O.L.G. to establish new rules and principles. The gathering turned tragic when a black suburban vehicle drove by, opening fire and fatally wounding several O.L.G. members. This incident sowed distrust among KK and Darky, leading them to suspect an internal betrayal. The fallout from this suspicion caused the fragmentation of their alliance, with factions eventually aligning with larger national gangs like the Crips and Bloods.
