Tyshon Posto Anderson

Tyshon “Posto” Anderson, occasionally misspelled as Pasto, was a known member of the Lakeside Gangster Disciples in Chicago, Illinois. Tragically, he was shot dead on November 23, 2013, at the young age of 18. Law enforcement reports indicate that Anderson was in the hallway of a building located in the 2700 block of East 80th Street when an assailant approached and fatally shot him in the head at approximately 11:05 p.m.

Gang Rivalry

Posto's gang was at odds with Lil Herb's NLMB gang, a rivalry that has been highlighted in several songs. For instance, in RondoNumbaNine's track 'Zeko Pack,' Lil Herb references Posto, saying, "Posto, that's what I'm smokin' on (Pasto pack) - I'm on that, catch an opp, he get blown."

Cultural Impact

The dynamics between these gangs have been a significant element within the Chicago drill music scene. Artists often reflect their real-life experiences and rivalries in their lyrics, contributing both to the genre’s raw authenticity and its notoriety. The tragic death of young individuals like Posto underscores the harsh realities within these communities, often becoming part of the narrative in the music that arises from this environment.
