Young Moose

Young Moose, whose real name is Kevron Evans, is a prominent gangster rapper hailing from Baltimore, Maryland. His rise to fame coincided with escalating crime rates in Baltimore around 2015, leading to heightened scrutiny from the Baltimore Police Department. Many speculate that this attention stems from his significant influence among the city's youth, who are often implicated in local criminal activities. Hailing from Baltimore's East Side, Young Moose has been embroiled in ongoing feuds with several West Side rappers. His notable tracks include “Tru Bill,” “Wassup Wit Em,” and “Dumb Dumb.”

Young Moose Beefs

Young Moose has had ongoing disputes with various Baltimore rappers such as Nazty and Shilio (Shymoney). In January 2015, Nazty released a track called “Young Moose Diss,” which was shot on Young Moose’s block. Moose retaliated with his song “True Bill (Nasty & Shilio) Facts,” addressing Nazty's video with lyrics like “Sneakin videos in b*tch you knew we wasn't out - Its like 2 in the am zero below 10 - Somebody must of told your f*ggot ass that we took it in.” Tragically, on May 19, 2015, Nazty, whose real name is Darell Alston, was shot and killed in East Baltimore. Andrew Parmele and Shilo Thomas (Shymoney) were later apprehended as suspects.

Young Moose Arrests

Young Moose has faced several arrests, which some attribute to police targeting due to his lyrical content. In 2014, he was arrested after police discovered numerous heroin gel caps at his residence. Although Young Moose wasn’t present at the time, the Baltimore PD justified the search by citing his songs that discuss drug dealing. Club promoters have also reported police intimidation, alleging that they were warned against allowing Young Moose to perform, with threats of event disruption if they did.

In May 2015, Young Moose released a poignant music video titled “No Sunshine,” featuring Martina Lynch, which critiqued the Baltimore Police Department. The video opened with a stark message: “Over 5.7 Million (dollars) have been paid out by Baltimore since 2011 in over 100 police brutality lawsuit.” The intro showcased various instances of police brutality, and Moose rapped, “I’m Young Moose, I’m the future, they trying to do me like Kunta.”
